Purple Haze Lavender Farm - Sequim, WA

From Photo Sanity

July 2008

I was on a photo tour with a bunch of other photo enthusiasts I have been traveling with for a number of years - we had been photographing nearby Olympic National Park for a number of days. Our tour leader, Terry Eggers, had planned the trip to coincide with the local lavender festival so that we would have the opportunity to photograph the farms at their peak.

We arrived at Purple Haze as the early evening light was starting to provide that beautiful golden glow. At first I was somewhat overwhelmed by the patterns and choices but then I found this pattern through the viewfinder and I knew I had found what I was looking for. The light kept changing as I snapped away - I liked this one best out of about 30 photos I took in the same spot.
